What personal data we collect and why we collect it
Comments
When visitors write comments on our site, we collect the data displayed in the form (name, email, website), the IP address and the user’s user agent. All of this data helps us to separate spam comments and not to be published on the site.
An anonymous string created based on the email of the user who left a comment (anonymous string = hash) is sent to the Gravatar service to display an associated icon next to the user’s comment. Gravatar’s privacy policy is available here.
After accepting your comment, your name, your website and your comment are published on our website.
Cookies
When you leave a comment on our site, we can store a cookie in your browser to make sure it has already completed the form. This cookie lasts for a year.
Content from other websites
Articles on this site may contain third-party content (for example, video, images, etc.). This content acts in the same way that it would work if the user visited the content webpage (video, image, etc.).
These sites may collect data for you, use third party cookies or tracking tools. All of this information is listed in these services and their privacy policy respectively.
Analytics
We use the Google Analytics service to control the performance of the site as well as how users use it. This data is deleted after 26 months.
Newsletter Form
When subscribing to the Newsletter, we collect the email address you fill in the newsletter subscription form as well as your system’s IP address for optimal control and avoid spam emails. For sending a newsletter, use the Origen internal service called “MailWire” for which the privacy policy of this page applies.
With who we share your data?
The data remains on our site except in the cases listed above (Google Analytics, Gravatar, etc.). Email addresses that have completed their subscription to the newsletter are not shared with third parties and remain on the Origen.gr servers.
How long do your data remain to us?
The data we hold for statistical purposes in Google Analytics is deleted after 26 months.
If you comment on an article then metadata remain to us indefinitely as your comment is always posted on our site.
In the case of the newsletter, the data remains on the Origen.gr servers for as long as the user has an active subscription to the newsletter. Any user can unsubscribe with the relevant unsubscribe link at the end of each newsletter.
Do we share your data?
Comments can be sent to an automated spamming service.
